"The best thing about breaking is that you can express yourself freely - you don’t need a crowd, you don’t need anything except your body - and some good music.
I first got into breaking when I was about seven years old, after seeing it in music videos and things like that. That’s where I got my first glimpse into the breaking world.
My style is very abstract, but very athletic at the same time. I always like to stay in time with the music, show my character and show who I am as a dancer.
At the end of the day it’s a form of expression, so however you feel, it shows through your dance. Once you become one with the music, you get into that flow state and you feel like you can do anything.
A big part of breaking is sharing it. When kids come in to learn how to dance, it’s very rewarding to show them something they can do, which they can then show to their friends, or they can work on themselves to improve on.
It gives them something to dedicate their time to, so they can evolve, grow and aspire to be something bigger.”
